Big temperature changes today - We hope everyone is staying warm!  A little reminder that our Rebrand Store has lots of clothes, etc. so feel free to take what you need.  As we approach the winter break, there is a lot happening so, please update those calendars.

Graduation Information & Grad List Details 

This is a reminder that the updated graduation eligibility list has been posted just outside of Guidance. If a student’s CBE ID number appears on this list, it means they are currently eligible to participate in the June graduation ceremony. 

Please note that eligibility is not final. Students must continue to pass all required courses and remain on the updated graduation list at the end of May to maintain eligibility for graduation. 

We strongly encourage students and families to check PowerSchool regularly for the most up-to-date grades and progress information. Staying informed will help ensure there are no surprises as we approach the end of the school year. Additional details about graduation (including ticket sales, ceremony timelines, and other important information) will be shared as we get closer to the event.

Did you know The Alex Community Health Bus stops by Jack James and Forest Lawn High School? Did you know that they send a mental health counsellor a few times a month to help with mental health support and referrals? For more information on how to access these supports please stop by Guidance. 

Updates from Ms. Bechert 

It is the time of year when we get to congratulate many of our students for being accepted in Exploratory and Dual-credit opportunities for the Winter semester. These students are off to take a deep-dive into areas of career interest from Pipe Fitting to Animation and many areas in between! 

If you have any curiosity about one of the pathways as part of your child's education, click on "unique pathways cbe" and then connect with Ms Bechert, the Off Campus Coordinator.  

Two exciting speakers are coming to our school in January. Please sign up to attend in Student Services: 

• Dan Weinert, M.Ed, RSE, the Academic Chair for Apprenticeship at SAIT will do 2 sessions on Wednesday, January 7 - Period 2 for Grade 11/12, Period 3 for Grade 10s.  Learn what the apprenticeship program is really about and how to prepare for a career in the trades. Located in the library. • Dan Barnfield, Program Chair for Centre for Entertainment Arts at Bow Valley College will visit second block on Thursday January 15 in the Art room. Sign up in Student Services with Ms Bechert! Learn about programs involving digital art, design fundamentals, software development, film industry, and more!
